Snowstorm

Today we got 19.4 inches of snow. Mike's aide couldn't make it in because the buses were not running. Brandon didn't have school so it was just us with Mike.
This leads me to wonder what it will be like next year when Brandon goes away to college. What will I do when we get snow like this? I won't be able to go out and shovel because there will be no one in with Mike.
Simple things like this become very complicated when you are a caregiver.
(Picture was taken this morning at approx. 8 a.m. just after the snow ended)

Wow! That's a lot of snow. We don't see that much here in NC. I'm glad Brandon is OK and that the accident wasn't too bad. I hope Mike is doing better now. I'm praying for you all!

Take care and God bless,

Carl

Wow you did get a lot of snow! :) Just found your blog tonight.......my hubs was just diagnosed with Early Onset Alz back in Oct. He is 46 and we have a 13 year old daughter and a 16 year old son. Such a crazy disease.....but it's nice to meet someone who has been walking this horrid and difficult journey for awhile...as we are just beginning.

I'm very sorry to hear about your husband. I am CONSTANTLY amazed at the number of people being diagnosed with Young Onset. I truly believe the actual numbers are far higher than we are lead to believe, and that is just another reason why I am as vocal as I am. Younger families face a VERY different struggle and the challenges are emmense. I just "met" another woman through the Alz. Association message boards whose husband was just diagnosed at 32! Feel free to e-mail me if I can do anything to help/guide you. Be well and stay strong.
